Life cycle
Larvae: August-June, in the autumn mining spun needles, in the spring feeding in expanding buds. Adults: June-September.

European Larch; sometimes Sitka Spruce.
History
The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Castlehill in Kirkmahoe parish, Dumfriesshire, on 18th August 1977 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was trapped at Minnigaff on 4th August 2012.
