Identification
Distinctive white terminal streak and diamond-shaped wing spots.

Attracted to light.
Flight period
A migrant and could appear anytime. Most commonly found from July-September.
Larval foodplants
Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) and Field Wormwood (Artemisia campestris). Not believed to breed in Scotland.
Habitat
Most common on the coast, but can turn up anywhere.
History
The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Kirkton, Dumfriesshire, on 15th August 1996. No records from Kirkcudbrightshire or Wigtownshire.
