Life cycle

Larvae present June-July in a spun shoot or rolled terminal leaves.  Adults August-June. Hibernates as an adult.

Larval foodplants

Wild Carrot, chervil, Hemlock Water-dropwort and probably other umbellifers.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found an unknown site in Wigtownshire by an unknown person prior to 2001 (MOGBI data), while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was found at Auchencairn Bay on 13th April 2003.
