Identification

A reddish-brown moth with an extended white longitudinal streak that extends most of the length of the moth.

Recording method

Attracted to light.

Flight period

July-September.

Larval foodplants

Grasses, particularly bromes.

Habitat

Dry and sandy habitats.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Torrs on 11th September 1982 by Sir Arthur Duncan, the specimen at National Museums Scotland. No records from Dumfriesshire or Kirkcudbrightshire.
