History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Castlehill in Kirkmahoe parish, Dumfriesshire, on 23rd September 1977 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was found at Portling on 6th September 1978 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen also at National Museums Scotland, with the Wigtownshire first at Newton Stewart on 19th July 1990.
