Larvae present July-April, adults May-July or later.  Larva is found inside a terminal shoot, killing it.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at an unknown site, Dumfriesshire, by a person unknown prior to 1996 (MOGBI data), while the first for Wigtownshire was also found at an unknown site by a person unknown prior to 1996 (MOGBI data), with the Kirkcudbrightshire first being found on Auchencairn Bay on 27th July 2010.
