Recording method

Flies freely in afternoon sunshine in short darts close to the ground.  Comes to light.

Life cycle

Larvae present May-June, September-April in a silken tube under the lowest leaves.  Adults: April-May, July-September.

Larval foodplants

Sheep’s sorrel.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found on Auchencairn Bay, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 23rd July 2002.
