Life cycle

Larvae present May-July, October-April.  Mine is a tortuous gallery leading to a blotch mine on the upper surface causing the leaf to close over the mine.  Adults fly April-June, July-September.

Ribwort Plantain.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found of a mine found on Plantago at Southerness, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 11th July 1982 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Kirkton on 4th July 2011.
