Life cycle

Mine: August-March.  Mine is a blotch, the larva sometimes feeding outside it under a loose silk web beneath the mined leaf.  Adults June-July.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found of larvae found at Penpont, Dumfriesshire, on 3rd August 1975 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was of a leaf-mine found in Mabie Forest on 22nd September 2001.
