Life cycle

Larvae present July-August, September.  The larva initially mines the leaf then feeds externally. Adults fly May-June.

Birch species.  Less often, Sweet Chestnut.

History

First record for Dumfries and Galloway was a leaf-mine from Castle Wood, Caerlaverock, Dumfriesshire, on 16 September 2023.
