Life cycle

Larvae present July-August, October-May.  The larva initially mines the leaf, then either feeds externally or continues to mine in a succession of small galleries similar to Scrobipalpa salicorniae.  Adults fly May-July, July-September.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found on Auchencairn Bay, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 5th September 2004, while the first for Dumfriesshire was trapped at Glencaple on 2nd September 2013.
