Recording method

Rests in crevices in tree trunks.  Comes to light.

Life cycle

?August-May.  Not recorded in Britain till April, when it is recorded feeding in a folded leaf or spun leaves and shoots.  Adults fly June-August.

Larval foodplants

Elm species.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Castlehill in Kirkmahoe parish, Dumfriesshire, on 30th August 1978 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland.
