Life cycle

Larvae: September-May in a silken tube low on the plant.  Adults: May-September.

Larval foodplants

Thyme spp, sea-lavender spp, Thrift, Trifolium spp (clovers and trefoils), Bird’s-foot-trefoil, Mouse-ear-hawkweed, rock-rose spp, Broom Fork-moss (Dicranum scoparium) etc.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found on Aucheninnes Moss, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 1st September 2002.
