Larvae: May-June on flowers and terminal shoots, often causing them to wilt.  Adults: June-August.

Many herbaceous plants and, occasionally, shrubs and trees.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Kirkconnell Flow NNR, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 8th July 1978 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at an unknown site by a person unknown prior to 2010 (Scottish micro-moth data).
