History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at the Needles Eye, near Caulkerbush, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 20th July 1963 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Newlands on 15th June 1976 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland, with the Wigtownshire first being found at Airyolland Lodge on Luce Bay on 4th July 2011.
