Life cycle

Larvae present September-May, adults May-August.  The case is pale, in contrast to that of Coleophora paripennellla whose case is black.

Larval foodplants

Thistle species.  Sometimes on burdock species.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Holywood, Dumfriesshire, on 19th July 1994 by A. M. Emmet.
