Larvae: September-April under bark, exuding reddish-brown frass.  Adults: May-August.

Larval foodplants

Scots Pine, Black Pine, Norway Spruce, Serbian Spruce, Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Kirkconnell Flow NNR, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 16th June 1978 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland.
