Mines: April-June.  Adults: June-August.

Larval foodplants

Leaves of Common Cottongrass Eriophorum angustifolium, less often Slender Tufted-sedge Carex acuta, Greater Pond-sedge Carex riparia or Common Spike-rush Eleocharis palustris.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found near Bran Law, Dumfriesshire, on 28th July 1963 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was of one netted at Carlin’s Cairn on 30th June 2014.
