Larvae present September-July, adults May-September.

Larvae mine the leaves of various sedges (Carex).

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found near Bran Law, Dumfriesshire, on 28th July 1963 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, who found the first for Wigtownshire at Elrig Loch, near Mochrum, on 29th June 1988, with the Kirkcudbrightshire first being found at Mersehead RSPB on 26th June 2010.
