Early stages not known.  Adults fly May-July.

Larval foodplants

Sedges (Carex) species, possibly also Cottongrass (Eriophorum)species.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found near White Coomb, Dumfriesshire on 28th July 1963 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Wigtownshire was found on Carsegowan Moss on 9th May 2000, with the Kirkcudbrightshire first being found at 800m on the Merrick on 7th August 2013.
