Life cycle

Larvae: September-May in the bark, exuding reddish frass.  Adults: May-September.

Larval foodplants

Various rosaceous trees, especially mature apple spp, Wild Cherry, Dwarf Cherry, ornamental cherries and whitebeam species.

History

First record for Dumfries and Galloway was an adult which came to actinic light in Dalbeattie on 13 August 2016.
