Life cycle

Larvae: September-April in the seeds, either externally or internally according to the foodplant.  Adults: May-June, July-September in overlapping broods.

Larval foodplants

Teasel, Betony, Hemp-nettle spp, Lousewort spp, Yellow-rattle, Ribwort Plantain.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was netted at Holmhead on Lochar Moss, Dumfriesshire, on 23rd August 2013, while the first for Wigtownshire was of a male and female netted at Glassoch on 27th August 2013.
