Life cycle

Larvae: August-April in the roots or in a silk-lined tunnel in the crown.  Adults: June-July.

Larval foodplants

Butterbur and possibly Winter Heliotrope.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Locharbriggs, Dumfriesshire, on 7th July 1983, specimen at National Museums Scotland.
