Life cycle

Larvae April-June in an unopened leaf-bud or spun leaves.  Adults: May-August.

Larval foodplants

Willow species, especially Grey Willow, Creeping Willow and Eared Willow.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Castlehill in Kirkmahoe parish, Dumfriesshire, on 29th August 1979 by Sir Arthur Duncan, who found the first for Wigtownshire at Torrs on 3rd August 1981, both specimens at National Museums Scotland, with the Kirkcudbrightshire first being found at Carsluith on 25th June 2011.
