Life cycle

Larvae: July-April in the fruit, leaving a conspicuous entrance hole surrounded by frass.   Adults: May-September.

Larval foodplants

Prunus species (plums, cherries) especially Blackthorn and Wild Plum.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Port of Counan, Wigtownshire, on 21st July 2006 during a ‘Grey Daggers’ Moth Group field meeting.
