Life cycle

Larvae: April-May in the flower-heads and shoots and on the leaves; August on the seeds.  Adults: May-July, July-October.

Thrift or Bird’s-foot-trefoil.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found in Colvend parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, during 1870 by Francis Buchanan White, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Caerlaverock WWT sometime during the period 1970-72, with the Wigtownshire first being found at Chippermore Point on 7th August 1997.
