Life cycle

Larvae: September-May between two leaves spun together.  Adults: May-August.

Larval foodplants

Many trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, especially Ivy, privet species and Vaccinium species (Blaeberry, Cranberry, Cowberry).

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Castlehill in Kirkmahoe parish, Dumfriesshire, on 10th July 1977 by Sir Arthur Duncan, who found the first for Kirkcudbrightshire at Kirkconnell on 31st July 1977, with the Wigtownshire first also being found by Duncan at Glenluce on 6th July 1984, all three specimens at National Museums Scotland.
