Recording Method

Can be swept from the foodplant.  Flies in late afternoon.  Comes to light.  Sometimes found well away from suitable habitat.

Life cycle

Larvae present May-June.  Adults June-August.

Larval foodplants

Common Spike-rush Eleocharis palustris.

History

The first for Scotland and Dumfries & Galloway was found on Auchencairn Bay, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 22nd June 2003.
