Larvae: April-June in spun leaves. Adults: May-August.
Larval foodplants
Honeysuckle, Vaccinium species (Blaeberry, Cranberry, Cowberry), Bog Myrtle, Birch species and many other trees, bushes and herbaceous plants.
History
The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found near Monreith, Wigtownshire during July 1899 by K. J. Morton, specimens at National Museums Scotland, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Lochar on 14th June 1976 by Sir Arthur Duncan, who also found the Kirkcudbrightshire first at Kirkconnell on 10th July 1977, with both specimens at National Museums Scotland.
