Identification

A sexually dimorphic species with males being darker and smaller than females. Both sexes brown with yellowish markings.

Recording method

Attracted to light.

Flight period

June-September.

Larval foodplants

In the Uk Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) but abroad a common pest of Maize.

Habitat

Mostly coastal in the UK, but can turn up anywhere.
