Life cycle

Larvae:  September-April among loosely-spun seeds.  Adults: July-August.

Larval foodplants

Carrots; sometimes Angelica, Hogweed and other umbellifers.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Torrs, Wigtownshire, on 4th June 1983 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was found on Auchencairn Bay on 6th July 2004.
