Life cycle

Larvae present July, August-October.  Initially in a Phyllonorycter-type mine.  Later under a silken pad in the centre or at the edge of a leaf.  Adults fly April-June, July-September.

Larval foodplants

Rowan, Common Whitebeam (Sorbus aria agg.), Wild Service-tree, Apple species, Cotoneaster frigidus.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at an unknown site in Dumfriesshire by a person unknown prior to 1985 (MOGBI data), while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was found at Dalshangan, near Dundeugh, on 28th June 2000.
