Rests in sunshine on flowers of the foodplant.

Life cycle

Larvae: September-October in spun seeds.  Adults: June-September.

Hogweed, Angelica or Scots Lovage.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Torrs Warren, Wigtownshire, on 16th August 1984 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Crossdykes Knowe, Baillie Hill, during 2016.
