Identification
Very similar to Phycitodes binaevella, P.maritima and Homoeosoma nebulella and H.nimbella. Larger than the other Phyticodes species but genital dissection suggested for confident identification.

Composit flower heads including chamomiles, mayweeds and fleabanes.

Coastal habitats.
History
The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found in Colvend parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, during 1879 by Francis Buchanan White, while the first for Wigtownshire was found near Monreith during July 1899 by K. J. Morton, specimens at National Museums Scotland. No records from Dumfriesshire.
