Life cycle

Mines: June-August, September-October.  White mine on upper side of a Hazel leaf, often several per leaf.  Adults fly May-June, July-September.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was of leaf-mines found at Caerlaverock, Dumfriesshire, on 10th July 1982 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was of leaf-mines found at Wood of Cree on 25th June 2005 during a Scottish Entomologists’ gathering.
