History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was of a leaf-mine found at Kirkinner, Wigtownshire, on 6th October 1963 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, who found the first for Kirkcudbrightshire at Doach Burn, near Palnackie, on 30th May 1965, who then found the Dumfriesshire first on the Drumlanrig Estate on 18th May 1975.
