Recording method

Overwinters as an adult and can be disturbed from vegetation during this period.

Life cycle

Larvae present May-June, July (possibly)-September.  Larva initially creates a gallery mine, then feeds within a conically-rolled leaf tip.  Adults fly June-July, August-May.

Larval foodplants

Oak species, including evergreen Holm Oak.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was beat and caught at Tynron Juniper Wood, Dumfriesshire, on 28th July 2014 and verified by K. P. Bland.
