Life cycle

Larvae: August-April.  Overwinters in a hollowed-out bud.  In spring in a shoot, preferring a lateral shoot.  Adults: May-August.

History

First for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Corsemalzie House Hotel, near Mochrum, Wigtownshire, on 27th June 1988 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Holywood on 19th July 1994 by A. M. Emmet.
