History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was of leaf-mines found at Whithorn, Wigtownshire, on 12th October 1959 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, who also found the first for Dumfriesshire on the Drumlanrig Estate on 18th May 1975, with the Kirkcudbrightshire first being found at an unknown site by a person unknown prior to 1975 (MOGBI data).
