History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was of leaf-mines found at Penpont, Dumfriesshire, on 12th October 1958 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton, who found the first for Wigtownshire that was also of leaf-mines, found at Cairnryan on 6th October 1963, with the Kirkcudbrightshire first being found at an unknown site by a person unknown prior to 1975 (MOGBI data).
