Hibernates in Yew, Juniper and other thick cover.

Life cycle

Larvae present June.  Adults present July-April.

Larval foodplants

Ash and occasionally Wild Privet Ligustrum vulgare.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found on Carsegowan Moss, Wigtownshire, on 26th June 2005, while the first for Dumfriesshire was of one beaten from juniper in the Tynron Juniper Wood on 28th July 2014.
