Usually distinctive. Care required, potential confusion with Spruce Carpet and Grey Pine Carpet.

Attracted to light.

Life cycle

One generation. Overwinters as an egg on the foodplant. Larvae July to September. Pupates among needles of the foodplant or in plant debris on the ground.

Junipers, including garden varieties.

History

The first record for D&G was one to an MV light on 1st November 2024 in Dumfries (VC 72).
