Flies from dusk. Attracted to light.

Life cycle

One generation. Overwinters as a small larva. Larvae August to late May. Pupates in a cocoon on a twig or branch.

Lichens growing on broadleaved or coniferous trees.

Habitat

Woodland, parkland, hedgerows and gardens.

History

The first record for D&G, and for Scotland, was one to light at Blackcraig (VC73) on 2nd July 2026.
