Migrant but now an established breeder in southern UK.  Red List: Least Concern (LC).

Usually distinctive.

Recording Method

Attracted to light. Also attracted to pheromone lure (Ni lure intended for Ni Moth).

Life cycle

Two generations. Overwinters as a small larva.

Larval foodplants

Common Nettle, Yarrow, mayweeds and other herbaceous plants.

Habitat

Asa migrant moth, could appear anywhere in the region.

History

The first record for D&G was one to a pheromone (Ni) lure on 29th September 2025 at Blackcraig (VC73).
