Identification

Smooth sandy brown forewings with an indistinct but roughly even white longitudinal streak with a dark lower edge.

Recording method

Attracted to light and commonly disturbed from vegetation in the field.

Flight period

Late June-August.

Larval foodplants

Grasses, including Common Saltmarsh-grass (Puccinellia maritima).

Habitat

Saltmarshes and wetland habitats.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Torrs Warren, Wigtownshire, on 7th August 1997, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire as found at Old Torr on 11th August 2012. No records from Dumfriesshire.
