Life cycle

Larvae present July-September.  Mine takes the form of an initial gallery followed by a blotch.  Later, the larva feeds in 2-3 successive folds spun downwards on the edge of a leaf.  Adults fly April-July.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at an unknown site in Dumfriesshire during 1975 by A. M. Emmet, while the first for Wigtownshire was of leaf mines found in Castle Kennedy Gardens on 17th July 1994 by A. M. Emmet.
