Recording method

Can be disturbed from willows by day.  Comes to light.

Life cycle

Larvae present August-October, either beneath the down on the underside of a leaf (often curling the leaf edge) or between joined leaves.  Adults fly May-July.

Larval foodplants

Willows, particularly Eared Willow, Goat Willow and Grey Willow.

History

First record for Dumfries & Galloway was an adult netted at Ringdoo Point, Wigtownshire, on 30 July 2019.
