Flies in sunshine and rests on the flowers of the foodplant.

Life cycle

Larvae July-May.  Adults May-June.

Larval foodplants

Seeds, then the lower leaves, of Germander Speedwell Veronica chamaedrys or, occasionally, Heath Speedwell Veronica officinalis.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Hannaston Wood SSSI, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 21st June 1996 during a Scottish Entomologists’ gathering, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at an unknown site by a person unknown prior to 2010 (Scottish micro-moth data).
