Life cycle

Larvae: July, September-April.  First brood in flowers or flower-stalks.  Second brood in lower stem and rootstock where it overwinters.  Adults: April-June, July-September.

Common Ragwort.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Torrs, Wigtownshire, on 12th August 1983 by Sir Arthur Duncan, while the first for Kirkcudbrightshire was found near Dalry on 4th June 1993, with the Dumfriesshire first being found at Kirkton on 21st April 2011.
