Life cycle

Larvae: July-April on spun flowers and seeds.  Adults: June-September.

Larval foodplants

Plantain species, Yarrow, Sneezewort, Wild Marjoram, Goldenrod, thyme species, Heather, Sitka Spruce.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Kirkconnell, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 4th August 1976 by Sir Arthur Duncan, who found the first for Dumfriesshire at Kettleton on 13th July 1978, with the Wigtownshire first being found by Duncan as well at Glenluce on 16th June 1984, all three specimens at National Museums Scotland.
